Today, we're thrilled to chat with one of our sales colleagues, Dino Iacovino, whose journey in the industry spans over four decades.

This story began in 1974, when a young and ambitious produce clerk embarked on a journey that would shape the future that would meet with Altar Produce. Armed with a passion for fresh produce and a drive to succeed, Dino quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a seasoned expert in the field.

Q1: Dino, how did you start your journey in the fresh produce industry?

A: My journey began back in 1974 when I was just 17 years old. I started as a produce clerk for Vons grocery company, traveling to different stores almost daily.

Q2: Can you share a memorable experience that inspired your passion for fresh produce?

A: One memorable moment that ignited my passion was helping a little old woman pick out a ripe watermelon. Seeing her joy sparked something within me.

Throughout the years, Altar Produce has remained steadfast in its commitment to excellence, sustainability, and quality. From the verdant fields where our produce is grown to the meticulous harvesting and packaging processes, every step of the journey is guided by a dedication to perfection.

Q3: What drew you to Altar Produce, and how has your journey been with the company?

A: A friend mentioned Altar Produce was looking for salesmen, and the rest is history. My journey with Altar has been incredibly fulfilling.

A: Altar is a leader in fresh asparagus and green onions. When Altar speaks, people listen.

One of the cornerstones of Altar's success lies in its unwavering focus on asparagus, a vegetable that holds a special place in the hearts of many. Once a seasonal delicacy, asparagus is now available year-round, thanks to Altar's innovative farming practices and commitment to meeting customer demand.

Q5: What leadership principles guide you in the fresh produce sector?

A: Honesty and integrity are paramount. In this business, your word is your bond.

A: I enjoy working on hot rods, riding my motorcycle, and spending time by the Colorado River.

Q10: Is there a particular aspect of your role at Altar Produce that brings you joy?

A: Every aspect brings me joy. I wake up grateful for the opportunity to do what I love.
